9 Settings
This chapter is a reference for the Settings categories not already covered by their own chapters. On iOS these appear as a scrollable form; on macOS as a sidebar (open with ⌘,).
9.1 Display
- Panel Mode: Single, Two, Three, or Four panels. See Panels & Layout.
- Font Size: scales text throughout the app (works with Dynamic Type).
- Haptic Feedback: enable/disable haptic responses app-wide.
9.2 Basemap
- Show Basemap: toggle the vector basemap on/off.
- Theme: Light, Dark, Satellite, or Weather.
- Layers: independently toggle State Boundaries, Roads, Water, Waterways, Land Use, Buildings, and Place Names.
- Basemap URL: point to a remote PMTiles source; a bundled fallback is always available offline.

9.3 Radar
- Active Radar Site: pick the WSR-88D/TDWR site (e.g.
KTLX). - Hide TDWR Sites: exclude Terminal Doppler sites from pickers and the map.
Per-panel radar options (product, tilt, display mode, smoothing, range outline, beam blockage) are documented in Radar Products.
9.4 Color Maps
- Radar Palettes: choose the color map for each radar product category.
- Surface Palettes: choose the color map for each surface product category.
- Palette Browser: preview available palettes and apply custom maps.

Palettes change only how data is colored, not the underlying values. Pick a palette you can read confidently. Consistency matters more than looks when reading severe weather.
9.5 Credentials
- Spotter Network: username/password for live spotter positions and reports.
- Weather Pulse (AllisonHouse): login for the real-time event stream.
See Spotter Network.
9.6 Speech
Text-to-speech voice, rate, pitch, and auto-announce behavior. Covered in Accessibility & Speech.
9.7 Screenshot sharing
When exporting radar captures you can brand them:
- Custom Logo: upload a PNG to overlay on exports.
- Logo Placement: Top-Left, Top-Right, Bottom-Left, or Bottom-Right.
- Logo Scale: size as a fraction of image width (5%–50%).
9.8 Debug (developer tools)
Diagnostic options for troubleshooting and development:
- Tile Debug Overlay: show PMTiles Z/X/Y tile boundaries and coordinates.
- Hit Region Debug: visualize interactive hit-test regions.
- Coordinates in Legend: show lat/lon and zoom level.
- FPS Counter: show rendering frame rate.
- Clear Basemap Cache: flush cached tiles from disk.
- Reset Onboarding: show the onboarding tutorial on next launch.
- GPS Log Tools: load and manage chase logs for archive replay.
These tools are aimed at diagnostics and development; you don’t need them for everyday use.
